BHOPAL: The post-mortem of the sub-inspector, his wife, and two-year-old son, in the alleged murder-suicide case, was conducted on Sunday.
“After the post-mortem, the bodies were taken to the sub-inspector’s native town in Agar-Malwa for last rites,” said Kolar SHO (SI) Jay Kumar Singh, adding that the statements of grieved family members were yet to be recorded.
However, prima facie it came to light that the couple was having some dispute recently.
“A note, written by the SI’s wife, was found at their home in which she mentioned about fights, adding that he was not taking care,” said SHO Singh, adding that the note was indicating that they were into regular fights, which could have lead to the tragic incident.
The SHO said that the CCTV cameras installed on the way to the cop's home are being scanned. In few footages, he was spotted reaching home around 9 pm and leaving on his bike after 11 pm.
It was also suspected that the sub-inspector bought the brand new butcher knife from the market before reaching his home on Friday. It was suspected he attacked his wife a number of times.
On Friday night, the body of Suresh Kumar Khanduga, a sub-inspector in special branch, was found on the railway tracks near Misrod railway station. His bike was found parked near the tracks. On the basis of his bike, when police approached his home in Rajvaidya Colony in Kolar on Saturday morning around 10.30am, they found his wife Krishna Verma, 28, and son Ivan's bodies lying in a pool of blood. Their throats were slit with a butcher’s knife. The body of the minor was found lying on the bed in his bedroom while his wife's body was found on the floor in another room. The FSL team investigated the crime scene and collected samples. Subsequently, the bodies of the woman and the kid were sent to the mortuary in presence of district administration officials.
Police have informed the deceased SI's family members about the incident. The woman's family members reside nearby in Kolar and reached the spot on getting information. No suicide note was recovered from the spot which can throw light on the
It was suspected that the deceased SI murdered his wife and son and then took the extreme step by jumping in front of a train. The reason behind the incident would be clear during investigations.
He was a native of Agar-Malwa, inducted into police force as a constable around ten years back in 2013. He appeared in the departmental exam and was posted as a sub-inspector in 2016. He was preparing for the UPSC and PSC exams.
